Design Thinking: Why Design Matters to Business

"Design's power runs far deeper than aesthetics.... If you are mapping out a sales strategy, or streamlining a manufacturing operation, or crafting a new system for innovating you are engaged in the practice of design."
—Bill Breen, Masters of Design, 2004

A recent trend in business management is to promote "design thinking" or "empathic design" in management decisions. Design thinkers in management are asked to think like anthropologists or psychologists, investigating how people experience the world emotionally and cognitively (...sound familiar?...). This blending of creativity and research is used to promote innovation and open up business opportunities.

Please join us Thursday, May 8 at US Bank to talk about research done on design thinking for business, and why it's an emerging skill for businesses to succeed in the future.
