Networking is an indispensable tool for conducting our professional and personal lives. Making meaningful connections and keeping them up isn't something that happens by accident. In this hands-on workshop, Janel will present several keys to unlocking the secrets of successful networking. Along the way, she will explore parallels between the intentionality required in successful networking and the intentionality required in user experience research and product design. Janel Anderson
Janel Anderson is Director of User Experience Engineering at Thomson. She is a seasoned professional with 15 years of experience in the user experience research arena. A former professor at both the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas, she holds a Ph.D. in organizational communication from Purdue University. While at Thomson she has worked on projects with over business units spanning four continents including a recent product launch in China. Outside of work, Janel serves the urges of both taste and design as she reverse engineers recipes for dishes from her favorite restaurants.
