About Our Speakers and The Topic

Dean Barker

Dean T. Barker is an Executive Director for Human Factors International. He is a technical expert participating in ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) committee responsible for developing standards for Software and Systems Engineering. He is also co-author of Designing Effective Speech User Interfaces, published by John Wiley & Sons. He has fifteen years of experience in usability and software product development, including substantial experience in international software product development. Mr. Barker has a B.A. in Business Management and Communication and a M.S. in Software Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
