For our July event, we'll hear from Dr. Caroline Hayes of the University of Minnesota on the similarities in the challenges of getting software engineers to consider usability during design, and getting mechanical product designers to consider life cycle issues during design. We will explore this by discussing the Design for Life Cycle approach (from UPA Voice), the challenges shared with Design for Usability, and thoughts on what is needed to change practices and culture of designers.
