Orfield Labs is the only multidisciplinary environmental consulting laboratory in the U.S. Its expertise encompasses acoustics, lighting, building performance analysis, and occupancy quality research on office, health care, educational, and religious environments. The lab has pioneered use of visual and acoustic jury methods to assess user perceptions of both sound quality of acoustic environments, and visual quality of working and living environments. This approach represents a usability testing methodology that has not been employed elsewhere.
Tour participants will see two spaces at the lab recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records: an anechoic chamber rated as the quietest room in the world, and the conference room recognized as the first digital recording studio in the world (Bob Dylan recorded Blood on the Tracks in this room).
Your hosts for the tour will be Dr. Thomas Smith and Dave Berg, Acoustics Specialist with Orfield Labs.
This is a meeting you won't want to miss, whether you are new to the world of usability, or an experienced practitioner.
