Making Accessibility Real
UPA Minnesota is pleased to invite you to a panel discussion on Making Accessibility Real on August 10th. For this event, our panel will touch on the following questions:
- Who is our real target audience?
- Dealing with federal 508 standards accessibility requirements.
- Who benefits from the Federal standards and how useful are the requirements?
- If you as an application designer meet the Federal requirements, does this mean the product is usable?
- How technologically and financially difficult is it for us to implement an accessible application?
- Where do you draw the line on making something accessible?
- Are there solutions that cover both end of the spectrum of disabilities? From workplace injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome and aging eyes, to full blindness?
Our panel for this event will be:
- Earl Harrison, Adaptive Technology Solutions Provider with Triumph Technology
- Mike Sahyun, Computer Science graduate and working through a full life cycle software engineering curriculum from a blindness orientation
- Philip Kragnes, Adaptive Technology specialist with the University of Minnesota John Neenan from US Bank will act as Panel Facilitator
