- 3+ years experience
with information architecture of complex websites, intranets, and/or
web-based products and services
- Experience developing conceptual
models, flowcharts, prototypes, style guides, and graphic interface
mockups
- Portfolio
of work
- Demonstrated ability to document
designs
- Solid understanding of principles
of information organization and user interface design
- Thorough understanding of
web technology and desktop software
- Willingness to experiment
with new interactions and designs
- Knowledge of fundamental design
principles and disciplines that affect typography, color use, animation,
composition, use of space, distribution of information, etc.
- Excellent writing and verbal
skills
- Ability to build consensus
and justify decisions
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent time-management,
multi-tasking ability, and the ability to prioritize
- Ability to quickly understand
and communicate complex system and design concepts
- Experience designing and prototyping
user interfaces with iRise Studio, Visio, Axure, or similar tools
- Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript,
and CSS design capabilities
Preferred Education, Experience, and
Capabilities:
- Degree in information science,
information design, human-computer interaction, anthropology, cognitive
psychology, or related fields
- Experience with Ruby on Rails,
Flash, Silverlight, or similar technologies
- Experience designing or developing
Web 2.0 applications
- Experience conducting usability
tests
- Experience with agile development
- Visual design skills and graphics
software knowledge are a plus
