Allina Commons is the Minneapolis-based headquarters of Allina Hospitals & Clinics, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Allina's Abbott Northwestern Hospital, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.
Responsibilities
Design and code web page templates using current and emerging technologies. Determine organization and structure of content, so that it supports the user experience. Act as an advocate for the end user, ensuring that the web application satisfies the user expectations for utility and ease of use. Plan and conduct usability testing. Assist in project planning activities.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: BA or BS in graphic/new media design, computer science, or related area. Minimum 5 years experience as a web/user interface designer or human factors/usability analyst. Experience working within a web development team preferred. Information architecture experience helpful.
Skills: Solid knowledge of HTML, cascading style sheets (CSS) and web development software such as Macromedia, Dreamweaver, and Flash. Expertise in creating web graphics using software such as Photoshop. Ability to conduct usability testing and analysis. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of online marketing and communication techniques. Experience in guiding and leading teams in areas such as user interface design and usability practices.
